Job Details: Title: Flex Developer
Job Description: We are seeking a Flex Developer to work in our team of over 100 full-time professionals where 90% of our staff is creative. Daily duties may include creating both single player and multiplayer games and other online content for our site.
Must have at least 3 development examples, or equivalent demonstration of skill to apply. Experience with the Neopets.com website is a definite plus and should be referenced in your cover letter.
Required Qualification/Skills:
• BS or BA Computer Science degree
• 3+ years experience developing applications using Flex Builder and ActionScript 3.0
• 3+ years experience with Flash game development
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Creative technical problem solver with strong attention to detail
• Candidate must have experience with all software development life cycle phases (Project planning, requirements definition, Systems design, Implementation, Integration and testing, installation, deployment, & Maintenance )
Job Responsibilities:
• ActionScript 3 coding using Flex Builder 3
• Code design for new Flex-based products and updates to existing products
• Styling and layout of Flex applications
• Maintain coding standards to achieve efficiency in maintenance and portability
• Work with team members to provide support and technical guidance
• Capable of understanding business objectives and able to translate business goals into technical design
Desired Qualification/Skills:
• Knowledge of Flex Builder 2/3
• Knowledge of UML
• Knowledge of the Flash 8 and Flash CS3 (9) IDE
• Knowledge of User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design
• Experience styling Flex applications using CSS
• Experience integrating Flex content with PHP
• Knowledge of PureMVC and/or Cairngorm microarchitecture a plus
