Flex Developer

A recently funded startup that just relocated to NYC is currently looking for a developer with experience in at least Flex and LAMP to add to the Team.

The ideal developer will have experience with Flex, Linux, MySQL, PHP and Ajax. In addition, she/he may have notions of image handling, manipulation, and processing. We also use web architecture on Amazon Web Services although its configuration is straight forward to learn if you understand and have notions of web architectures and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the founding team located in NYC.
• Propose ideas, translate ideas into product specs (mock ups, designs, usability tests, etc) and product management (break product into individual tasks, prioritize, set milestones, and supervise and report progress), management of external contractors (graphic designers, back end developers, etc.), and SW coding.

• Iteration of products (add/remove/modify features) based on usability tests and inbound marketing and analytics.

Experience

• Demonstrable two years experience in software or website development preferable in startup environments and in Flex/LAMP (we would like to see some kind of portfolio of things developed, even if they are not in Flex)
• Ability to collaborate and work well in teams. Easy to get along with people. We spend a lot of time together, we eat together and we do things together outside work.

Skills

• Demonstrable two years experience in software or website development preferable in startup environments and in Flex/LAMP (we would like to see some kind of portfolio of things developed, even if they are not in Flex).
• Nice to have: graphic design experience.

• Fast learning curve to understand how to integrate third party tools, e.g., we make extensive use of 3rd party APIs (Facebook connect, XML, etc.)
